Hola amigos de foro,

Does any one know where this picture has been taken? My first thought was at the Galápagos Islands, but that is a bit rare, right?

Any idea?

Saludos desde Holanda.

Hi,
Nice and rare picture indeed, I think is the Salinas Air Base (SESA) Gen. Ulpiano Paez.
Hope this help.
Regards,

Wow, what a incredible picture, 7 Jaguars in one, and yes, it looks like Salinas.

What a stunning and epic picture, it looks as it was taken in the 90s or 80s.
Do these planes still flying? At least one of them?

Greetings

Thanks all for reply; I first thought it was Salinas, but it looks so much different when I was there in 1997! So that's why I had a moment of belief that it could have been a deployment to Galápagos Islands for exercise

The picture showed at least one dual, and I guess that this picture must been taken between 1985 and 1990, when Escuadrón 2111 had still eight aircraft left, but perhaps even more before?

Those where the days ..... :D

Saludos a todo.

No, unfortunately all Jaguars are out of service for some years.... I think officially by 2004 (but not 100% sure)

The story of this picture goes back to the mid 1980's when Taura AB's runnway was under maintance works. The Jaguars were deployed to Salinas, The Kfirs to Guayaquil and the Mirage F.1 went to Manta. The picture is facing the west end of the runnway (at left of the picture) which goes parallel to the ocean.
